Canon City Hillclimb was held two years, 1962-1963. Canon City is 38 miles west of Pueblo and is the gateway to the Royal Gorge.

The hillclimb was held on Skyline Drive which is a ridge road just on the edge of the small town. The Colorado Association of Triumph Owners (CATO) were the sponsoring club, but the local spearheading the event was Father Boniventure Bandi of Abbey H.S. who was a car enthusiast. CATO were based out of the Denver area. **Of special interest was that Abbey High School was an all boys school, run by Benedictine Monks. The school closed in 1985 and is now a winery and a special events venue.

On Google I was able to follow the road up the hill. The road is cut into the hill as you can see on the photo below. I am unsure of the length of the climb, but the first few major corners looked to be fun on a very narrow road!

On the hill map after the 2nd hairpin it appears to continue to climb, but is mostly straight. The road stops at the top of the hill and intersects with Hwy 50.
