There have been at least 12 hillclimbs in Oregon. The first was held in 1954 on a two mile stretch of highway at the Wilson River Summit near Hwy 6. This was in the area of the Tillamook Burn. Another early event was in 1956 on an old highway outside of Pendleton. Evans Mountain and Keno started in the 60’s .
Larison Rock Hillclimb is the only currently running hill in Oregon as of 2025. Bible Creek near Willamina was abandoned (at least temporarily) in 2025 in favor of Bald Mountain Hillclimb, which then had to be cancelled. We’ll see what 2026 holds.
