The longest running hillclimb in Montana was in Billings. Black Otter ran from 1955-1986 when condition of the road and safety issues finally forced the event to end. The first event that I could find in Montana though, was in 1954 in Virginia City (Montana-yes) Several clubs joined together and formed a challenge event between clubs that entailed rallies and a hillclimb. The fun went on from 1954 to at least 1965.
Montana is perfect for hillclimbs, with its’ great mountain ranges. Here is a list of the events I found:
