Canyons and mountains, New Mexico has it all. Los Alamos has been home to quite a few hills that were run on different roads in the area. The “Los Alamos” hillclimb in 1954 was run on a short section of blacktop just off of Camp May Road. It was billed as the 3rd event, so I’ll go ahead and list 1952 as the very first in the state.
