The Teton Hillclimb was located at the Grand Targhee Ski area in Alta, Wyoming. It is located on the western side of the Tetons. The only access is from the west, through Idaho.
The Teton Hillclimb was first organized by the Eastern Idaho Sports Car Club and was a sanctioned NHA (Northwest Hillclimb Association) climb. It began in 1995 and ran for four years till 1998, then returned in 2002 on a slightly changed course. It was held on the access road to the ski area. The course was 2 miles long with approximately 9 corners and an elevation gain of 500 feet. It ended at over 8000 feet! The Grand Targhee Ski Lodge made a great base facility for the event. The last event was held in 2008. In later years the hillclimb was organized with assistance from the Teton Valley Rotary Club.
